Job Summary:
Join the prestigious Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) as a Wildlife Ranger or Assistant Warden Cadet and contribute to the protection of our nation’s rich biodiversity. As a Ranger or Cadet, you will undergo rigorous training to prepare you for deployment to various conservation areas across the country.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol designated areas to deter illegal activities such as poaching and habitat destruction.
- Monitor wildlife populations and report any signs of distress or illegal activity.
- Participate in conservation efforts such as habitat restoration and wildlife reintroduction programs.
- Educate local communities on the importance of wildlife conservation and sustainable practices.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to investigate and apprehend wildlife offenders.
- Assist in the rescue and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned wildlife.

Qualifications:
For Assistant Warden Cadet:
- Bachelor’s degree with second class honors lower division in wildlife management, natural resources management, environmental science, range management, veterinary medicine, criminology and security management, tourism management, education, sociology, or community development.
- Age requirement: 28 years or younger.
- Clean criminal record.
For Rangers:
- Minimum mean KCSE grade D plain or equivalent.
- Age requirement: 18-26 years.
Application Process:
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form or obtain it from the KWS National Park station. Submit a duly completed application form along with relevant academic and professional certificates and a detailed curriculum vitae no later than April 8. Successful candidates will undergo mandatory paramilitary training for either nine months (Cadets) or six months (Rangers).

Recruitment Schedule:
Recruitment will be conducted in at least 12 counties on April 15, followed by additional counties on April 16 and April 17. National Youth Service (NYS) graduates, persons with disabilities, women, and individuals from marginalized and minority communities are encouraged to apply.
