Introduction
The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is seeking an experienced and strategic Director Operations to oversee and enhance our operational guidelines and projects. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our convention centre, aligning operations with our strategic plan and fostering continuous improvement. As the Director Operations, you will lead initiatives aimed at modernizing our facilities, ensuring optimal utilization, and maintaining the architectural heritage of the KICC. Key Responsibilities
- Initiate the development and review of Operations guidelines to ensure they meet organizational standards and objectives.
- Coordinate the implementation of Operations guidelines, ensuring adherence and effective execution across all departments.
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate the Corporation’s operations projects to align with strategic goals and enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop long-term and short-term plans for various operations programs/projects, achieving agreed targets in line with the Corporation’s Strategic Plan.
- Provide capacity building in the operations areas in line with KICC’s Knowledge and Talent Management Strategies, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.

Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Ten (10) years cumulative relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years at the managerial level in a reputable institution.
- Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Professional qualification and membership to a professional body where applicable.
- Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications to manage operational tasks and administrative duties effectively.
