Position Overview

As the ICT Officer at KTDA, you will report directly to the General Manager and play a pivotal role in maintaining, enhancing, and securing our ICT infrastructure and services. Key Responsibilities

Network Maintenance and Security

  • Ensure the sound maintenance of the network system in adherence to set standards.
  • Control data accessibility within the network, ensuring data security.
  • Provide timely support services to network users as required.
  • Monitor and report any major network system malfunctions.
  • Safeguard equipment and network systems.
  • Participate in network planning, design, development, deployment, and modification.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
  • Enforce network usage and security policies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the current architecture, identify security issues, and escalate for remedial action.
  • Monitor and analyze existing Intrusion Detection Systems to identify security issues and recommend areas for update.
  • Identify potential threats and weaknesses, implementing mitigation protocols for the data center.
  • Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications through technical enforcement of organizational security policies.

General ICT Operations

  • Perform systems backup to prevent data loss.
  • Maintain the Technical Operating System (TOS) and provide support to users.
  • Prepare incident reports and maintain a current knowledge base of relevant security scenarios.
  • Carry out any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in ICT or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a dynamic business environment.
  • Membership in the Computer Society of Kenya (CSK) will be an added advantage.
  • Relevant certification in Information and Community Technology from accredited institutions.
  • Demonstrated high integrity and ethical practice.
  • Proven ability to execute work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player with excellent multitasking skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a deep understanding of relevant knowledge.
