Job Purpose
As the Officer in Charge at Ukunda Airstrip, you will be at the forefront of ensuring efficient airstrip operations. Your role is crucial in providing leadership and overseeing the implementation of operational services to achieve business growth. You will ensure a seamless customer experience, maintaining safety and security for passengers and airstrip users, adhering to national legislations and International Civil Aviation Standards & Recommended Practices.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Coordinate airstrip operations in collaboration with ministries, departments, and agencies to enhance customer experience.
- Implement Master Plan: Drive the implementation of the airstrip master plan in consultation with stakeholders.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency and crisis response at the airstrip.
Safety and Security
- Implement Security Plan: Execute the airstrip security plan to ensure a secure environment.
- Safety Management System: Implement and maintain a robust safety management system at the airstrip.
- Rescue & Firefighting: Oversee compliance with rescue and firefighting capacity commensurate to the aerodrome level of protection.
- Aircraft Operations: Promote safe aircraft operations at the airstrip.
Customer Experience
- Seamless Facilitation: Oversee seamless passenger and airstrip user facilitation to enhance the customer experience.
- Service Level Agreements: Coordinate compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service delivery standards of third-party service providers.
Quality Management
- Contract Supervision: Supervise contract implementation for goods and services.
- Quality Management System: Implement the Quality Management System at the airstrip.
Minimum Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years working experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position.
- Specialized Training: Training in Airport Operations.
- Legal Requirements: Must meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 requirements.
Required Certificates
- Tax Compliance Certificate: From Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Police Clearance Certificate: From the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
- Self-Declaration Form: Stamped by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Certificate of Clearance: From Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
- Clearance Certificate: From a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
