Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the implementation of airstrip operational services to achieve business growth, ensure seamless customer experience, and uphold the safety and security of passengers and airstrip users, in line with national legislations and International Civil Aviation Standards & Recommended Practices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordination of Airstrip Operations: Collaborate with airstrip stakeholders, ministries, departments, and agencies to enhance customer experience.
- Implementation of Airstrip Master Plan: Drive the master plan in consultation with stakeholders.
- Emergency and Crisis Response: Coordinate emergency and crisis response at the airstrip.
- Security Management: Implement the airstrip security plan.
- Safety Management System: Implement and oversee safety management systems at the airstrip.
- Customer Facilitation: Ensure seamless facilitation of passengers and airstrip users to enhance customer experience.
- Rescue & Firefighting Compliance: Oversee compliance with rescue and firefighting requirements at the airstrip.
- Safe Aircraft Operations: Promote and monitor safe aircraft operations.
- Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service delivery standards of third-party providers.
- Contract Supervision: Supervise the implementation of contracts for goods and services.
- Quality Management System: Implement and oversee the quality management system at the airstrip.
Minimum Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Educational Background: Diploma in Management / Business Management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a relevant field.
- Training: Must have training in Airport Operations.
- Skills: Computer literacy is essential.
- Legal Requirements: Must meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 requirements.
Mandatory Clearances for Shortlisted Candidates
- Tax Compliance Certificate: From Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Police Clearance Certificate: From the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
- Self-Declaration Form: Stamped by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB): Certificate of Clearance.
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB): Clearance Certificate.
