Job Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as an Airport Manager in Wajir. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the implementation of airport operational services to ensure business growth, a seamless customer experience, and the safety and security of passengers and airstrip users in line with national legislation and International Civil Aviation Standards & Recommended Practices.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination of Airport Operations:
- Collaborate with airport stakeholders, ministries, departments, and agencies to enhance the customer experience.
Implementation of the Airport Master Plan:
- Drive the execution of the airport master plan in consultation with stakeholders.
Emergency and Crisis Response:
- Coordinate emergency and crisis response activities at the airport.
Airport Security Plan Implementation:
- Implement and oversee airport security measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
Safety Management System:
- Implement and maintain the safety management system at the airport.
Passenger and Airport User Facilitation:
- Oversee the seamless facilitation of passengers and airport users to enhance customer satisfaction.
Rescue and Firefighting Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with rescue and firefighting capacities commensurate with the aerodrome level of protection.
Promotion of Safe Aircraft Operations:
- Promote and ensure safe aircraft operations at the airport.
Contractual Compliance and Service Delivery:
- Coordinate compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and service delivery standards of third-party service providers.
Supervision of Contracts:
- Supervise contract implementation for goods and services.
Quality Management System:
- Implement and maintain a Quality Management System at the airport.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of working experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory position.
- Training: Must have training in Airport Operations.
- Compliance: Must meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 requirements, including:
- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
- Self-Declaration Form stamped by the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
- Certificate of Clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
- Clearance Certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
