Reporting to the Manager of Administration, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vehicle fleet and maintaining a high standard of safety.

Job Purpose

As a Driver at World Life Research Training Institute, your primary responsibility will be the safe operation of our institute vehicles along with basic routine maintenance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are in excellent mechanical condition and adhere to all safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, your duties and responsibilities will encompass:

1. Vehicle Maintenance

• Maintaining the cleanliness of institute vehicles, projecting a professional image.
• Keeping meticulous work tickets for each vehicle, ensuring proper record-keeping.
• Regularly cleaning and maintaining the assigned motor vehicle for optimal appearance and performance.
• Monitoring and reporting the mechanical and accident status of vehicles.

2. Compliance and Reporting

• Submitting regular and accurate reports regarding the condition and usage of assigned vehicles.
• Reporting promptly any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents as per established protocols.
• Ensuring that vehicles are always in proper mechanical working condition, addressing issues promptly.

3. Safety and Servicing

• Responsible for maintaining the periodic servicing schedule of institute vehicles according to next due dates.
• Responding immediately and appropriately in case of accidents, following applicable procedures.
• Upholding an accident-free driving record and demonstrating exceptional driving skills.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience as a driver.
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Occupational Trade Test II Certificate.
• Valid driving license without current endorsements(s) for the relevant vehicle classes (Class 238).
• First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or a recognized institution.
• A proven three (3) year accident-free driving history.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• National Police Clearance Certificate.
