Background

NITA, Enhancing Skills Since 1925, has been dedicated to reducing gender disparity in technical and engineering fields. As part of our Corporate Social Investment, we annually sponsor 25 Kenyan female students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue engineering courses at the craft and diploma levels. This initiative, launched in 2006, has already benefited 350 young Kenyan women across the country.

Opportunity for Aspiring Female Engineers

Are you a Kenyan female form four graduate from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) areas with a dream to pursue engineering? NITA invites applications from passionate individuals hailing from regions including

Mandera, Turkana, Lamu, Wajir, West Pokot, Kwale, Ijara, Tana River, Garissa, Isiolo, Marsabit,

Samburu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Suba, Kajiado, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Teso, Mt.Elgon, Kitui, Mwingi, Tharaka,

Mbeere, Transmara, Makueni, Kuria and Baringo.

. This is your opportunity to receive comprehensive sponsorship for engineering training starting May 2024.

You can choose from a range of disciplines, including but not limited to:

1. Mechanical Engineering

2. Agricultural Engineering

3. Electrical/Electronics

4. Automotive

5. Surveying

6. Building/Civil Engineering

Eligibility

To be considered, you must:

  • Show a strong willingness to learn and a genuine interest in a technical career.
  • Meet the following academic requirements:
Academic Level Minimum Mean Grade Mathematics Physics English
Diploma C (Plain) C+ (Plus) C (Plain) Proficiency
Craft D+ (Plus) C- (Minus) D+ (Plus) Proficiency

How to Apply

If you meet the above criteria and are from the eligible regions, follow these steps to apply for sponsorship:

  1. Write a compelling justification, not exceeding 300 words, explaining why you deserve this training and sponsorship.
  2. Attach copies of your Certificates, Testimonials, and National Identity Card.
  3. Select any two courses from the clusters provided (see below).
  4. Follow the application guidelines available on our website or contact us directly.
