With a dedicated team of over 2500 people, including 51% women, we’re set to produce and sell 150,000 stoves per month in 2022 from our solar-powered facility in Kenya.

Title: Policy Analyst

Are you ready to make a difference? Join our Commercial Team as a Policy Analyst. You’ll play a pivotal role in our growth by researching policy developments in our current and expanding markets and supporting our government relations efforts.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of Carbon Strategy, you will:

Conduct Detailed Policy Research

  • Investigate policy changes in voluntary and compliance carbon markets, and tax regulations.
  • Summarize and present crucial policy developments to management.
  • Maintain a comprehensive global policy database.
  • Prepare materials to showcase BURN to government ministers.

Support Government Relations

  • Draft letters and government program application forms.
  • Accompany the Head of Government Relations on visits to governments across Africa.
  • Coordinate meetings with government officials.
  • Respond to consultations on behalf of BURN.

Produce Research Reports

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc research reports.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate information on relevant policy and legislation.

Key Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in public policy, politics, law, or related fields.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to distill complex information, identify key insights, and present them clearly.
  • Strong legal document comprehension and summarization skills.
  • Exceptional research and analysis abilities.
  • Knowledge of carbon markets and environmental policy.
  • Familiarity with tax and trading regulations.
