About Us

KCIC’s Agribiz programme, now in its fourth year, is a transformative initiative that thrives on innovation. Rolled out across eight Business Incubation Hubs (BIH) in Kilifi, Machakos, Bungoma, Meru, Isiolo, Uasin Gishu, Kisii, and Kiambu, this program serves as a catalyst for greater women and youth involvement in agricultural and livestock value chains. We are devoted to providing a comprehensive range of services, benefiting 2,400 women and youth-owned agribusiness enterprises, along with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

As KCIC continues to expand its reach and impact, we’re seeking an enthusiastic Driver to contribute to our administrative and logistical operations in the Central, Kiambu, and Machakos Hubs. Role Summary

Role Title: Driver
Reports to: HR and Admin Manager
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

As a Driver at KCIC, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our transport system. Your responsibilities will include planning routes, maintaining vehicles, and enhancing safety measures to ensure efficient and reliable transfers for our team.

Responsibilities

  • Official Trip Support: Provide driving and logistic services for all official trips, ensuring timely and safe transportation.
  • Route Optimization: Plan and map out driving routes to ensure the most efficient trips based on road and traffic conditions.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain a well-organized travel schedule in collaboration with relevant officers.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain all necessary motor vehicle traffic documents, certificates, and licenses as per regulations.
  • Service Management: Create and manage a schedule for regular vehicle service appointments, promptly addressing any arising issues.
  • Records Keeping: Maintain accurate records for motor vehicle service intervals, movements, and utilization summaries.
  • Coordination: Coordinate motor vehicle services, repairs, and payments in line with departmental procedures.
  • Communication: Keep records of daily vehicle movements and schedules, obtaining pre-authorization for trips.
  • Document Delivery: Ensure the timely delivery of official documents, accompanied by signed delivery records.

Qualifications

  • Education: Completed KCSE or equivalent (D+ and above).
  • License: Possess a valid PSV Driver’s License.
  • Character: Hold a Certificate of Good Conduct.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 Years: Proven experience as a Driver in a reputable organization or donor-funded program.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle service and maintenance.
  • Defensive Driving: Familiarity with defensive driving principles.
  • Competence: Demonstrated driver competence.
