Inventory Clerk – Premium Hygiene under Nip Nap

Job Title: Inventory Clerk

Location: Thika

Salary Range: Ksh 30,000 to Ksh. 40,000


Purpose:

The purpose of this job is to keep track of the raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods in the warehouse. The Inventory Clerk will ensure accurate inventory management and reporting, supporting the efficient operation of our supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Daily Inventory Reconciliation

  • Ensure that physical stock (raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods) matches 100% with the SAP system.
  • Conduct daily checks and balances to maintain accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

2. Physical Stock Taking

  • Perform regular physical stock counts for raw materials, finished goods, and packing materials.
  • Report findings and address any inconsistencies with the relevant departments.

3. Accurate Record Maintenance

  • Maintain proper and accurate records of all inventory movements.
  • Prepare necessary inventory reports to assist management in decision-making.

4. Receiving Shipments

  • Inspect incoming shipments to ensure they meet set quality standards.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or damaged goods.

5. Dispatching Finished Goods

  • Issue and dispatch finished goods as per the delivery note.
  • Ensure all dispatches are accurately recorded in the SAP system.

6. Raw Material Issuance

  • Issue raw materials to the production floor based on inventory transfer requests from the SAP system.
  • Monitor material usage to prevent overstocking or shortages.

7. Proper Storage Implementation

  • Ensure goods are stored properly and implement First In First Out (FIFO) methods.
  • Maintain an orderly and well-defined store layout and location system.

8. Store Layout Management

  • Design and maintain an efficient store layout to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
  • Regularly review and update the layout to accommodate new products or changes in inventory.

9. Additional Duties

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management to support the overall objectives of the warehouse and supply chain operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Stores/Warehouse Management or Supply Chain Management from a recognized institution.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in any ERP software, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory and warehousing procedures.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
