Introduction

Working within a dynamic international NGO, you’ll play a vital role in supporting 3ZERO House Nairobi, a hub for fostering partnerships and solutions to address pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges.

Key Responsibilities
1. Research and Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive market research on climate change, waste management, and biodiversity in Kenya.
- Map actors and stakeholders to identify potential partnerships across various sectors.
- Create fact- and data-driven social media content and written materials for diverse audiences.
2. Event Management
- Assist in brainstorming concepts and ideas for events aligned with 3ZERO House objectives.
- Prepare detailed event planning documents, tracking progress and managing deadlines.
- Support event execution through logistics, pre-event setup, and post-event reporting.
- Handle event communications, including social media updates and blog posts.
3. Communications
- Collaborate with the Communications & Advocacy Officer to develop a robust social media calendar and content strategy.
- Assist in creating high-quality content for social media platforms.
- Gather photos, data, and information for reports, blog posts, and publications.
4. Internal and External Coordination
- Help organize and coordinate internal and external meetings, ensuring smooth scheduling and communication.
- Conduct research and prepare briefing documents, factsheets, and other preparatory materials for meetings.
- Take and file meeting minutes for efficient follow-ups.
5. Fundraising Support
- Assist in proposal development through detailed research and innovative idea generation.
6. Protection Mainstreaming
- Uphold the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) guidelines for all stakeholders.
7. Additional Duties
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager to support the successful implementation of the project.
Qualifications and Competencies
Acted seeks a self-motivated, organized, and passionate intern to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Key Skills
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in climate change and environmental sustainability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a basic understanding of business and finance.
- Strong IT proficiency in Microsoft Office (basic graphic design skills are a plus).
