Position: Internship – Monitoring & Evaluation

Supervision: The intern will work under the guidance of the Project lead – SNV and in collaboration with other project stakeholders

About the Project: The project is part of the Initiative for Sustainable Landscapes (ISLA) Programme, aiming to restore and conserve 60,000 hectares of the Mau Forest by 2030. SNV developed an alternative livestock production model to reduce forest grazing pressure while raising farmers’ income. The project focuses on strengthening dairy cooperatives, enhancing milk production, and creating market linkages for sustainable livelihoods.

Job Description:

Participate in Developing and Implementing M&E Plan:

  • Assist in developing and implementing the Project’s result-based Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) plan to track project progress effectively.

Support Farmer Training and Reporting:

  • Support farmer training sessions and compile training reports, project progress reports, and evaluation reports.

Design Data Collection Tools and Conduct Surveys:

  • Design data collection tools and templates and assist in data collection through surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions.

Track Project Indicators and Prepare Reports:

  • Track project output and outcome level results, prepare M&E reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Document Best Practices and Lessons Learned:

  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform decision-making and promote organizational learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Project Management, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, KoboCollect.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience or coursework in monitoring and evaluation, research methods, or data analysis is preferred.
