Key Responsibilities: Embark on a Journey of Growth

Planning: Ensuring Smooth Operations

  • Collaborate on reviewing the procurement plan and oversee its execution.
  • Facilitate reviews of requests and secure internal customer approvals for modifications.
  • Innovate by identifying alternative supply sources for non-contracted materials/services.
  • Safeguard the secure delivery and receipt of ordered materials.

Strategic Sourcing: Shaping Tomorrow’s Procurement Landscape

  • Assist in executing Market Assessment and Supplier Pre-Qualification, aligning with guidelines.
  • Manage the RFQ/RFP Process, adhering to approved frameworks.
  • Foster supplier relationships by accurately compiling master data management forms.
  • Oversee contract closure, renewal, or retender for assigned commodities.
  • Ensure mutual understanding of contractual conditions and performance indicators.
  • Collaborate on identifying, resolving, or escalating contract-related issues.

Procurement Execution: Orchestrating Seamlessness

  • Receive Purchase Requisitions, ensuring clarity in specifications.
  • Initiate sourcing events for items not under contract and update records accordingly.
  • Implement Procurement Policies in Supplier Award decisions, respecting thresholds.
  • Assemble documentation for Finance, expediting supplier payments.

Data Management and Analysis: Informing Decisions with Insights

  • Gather and analyze organizational data for informed decision-making.
  • Aid in designing business metrics to monitor SCM performance.
  • Summarize supplier bid responses for Procurement Committee award meetings.
  • Track and analyze procurement performance against target levels.

Process, Procedure, and Policy: Navigating Consistency

  • Execute procurement tasks in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
  • Solicit and report customer feedback to inform policy enhancements.

Systems Development & Implementation: Pioneering Evolution

  • Gather and communicate data for system improvements.

Control & Compliance: Upholding Integrity

  • Aid in supplier pre-qualification and records management.
  • Participate in developing risk assessment tools for procurement.
  • Maintain records in alignment with management guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Requesters for timely closure of open Purchase Orders.
  • Contribute to committees and task forces as required.

Eligibility Criteria: Be Part of the Change

To be eligible for our graduate internship programme, you must be a Kenyan citizen who meets these criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree graduates who have been beneficiaries of child sponsorship or experienced WV’s community development in their homes will be prioritized.
  • Display a genuine desire and capacity to serve in underserved areas of Kenya.
  • Embrace Christianity, irrespective of denomination, gender, or ethnicity.
  • Demonstrate good character, honesty, competence, and sound physical and emotional health.
  • Commit to dedicating your time to the project for the entire year.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Procurement), Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field within the last year.
