Key Responsibilities
As an Insurance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing applications for new insurance policies to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
- Verifying the identity of applicants by comparing relevant documents against existing records.
- Updating customer information in the database, including billing details, mailing addresses, and phone numbers.
- Processing new client applications by gathering information about the applicant’s personal details and auto insurance needs.
- Helping customers understand their insurance policies by answering queries about coverage, exclusions, and other essential details.
- Providing customer service by responding to inquiries via email or phone regarding policy details or claims processing status.
- Assisting customers with general questions about products and services, processing payments, maintaining customer accounts, and handling claims.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as COP or Diploma in Insurance.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
- Excellent communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with impeccable oral and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain business relationships.
- High integrity and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision while delivering results.
- A detail-oriented planner with a focus on achieving goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
