The Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry, State Department for Industry, invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals to fill Eight (8) vacant positions of Instructor I, CSG ’10’ at KITI Nakuru.

Responsibilities and Duties

As an Instructor I, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Instruction: Provide expert instruction in the specific area of specialization.
  2. Practical Assignments: Conduct and evaluate practical assignments for trainees.
  3. Scheduling: Prepare and maintain schedules for machines, equipment, and training aids.
  4. Project Design: Design projects for trainees and guide junior instructors.
  5. Workshop Maintenance: Ensure workshop tools, machines, and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
  6. Training Programs: Implement training programs in the area of specialization.
  7. Teaching Materials: Prepare training materials, including teaching and instructional aids.
  8. Lesson Plans: Develop work/lesson plans and assess and mark practical work for students.

Requirements for Appointment

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the grade of Instructor II or a comparable position in the public sector.
  2. Educational Background: Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
    • Automotive Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Plant Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Building Construction
    • Clothing and Textiles Technology
    • Leather and Tannery
    • Leather Technology
    • Food Technology
    • Entrepreneurship Education

    • Information Communication Technology

    • Food and Beverage
    • Agricultural Engineering
    • Business Management/Administration

  3. Training Certificate: Instructors Training Certificate lasting not less than six (6) months from a recognized institution.
  4. Supervisory Skills: Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution.
  5. Computer Literacy: Certificate in computer applications.
  6. Merit and Ability: Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
