We are currently seeking an Information Management Officer to join our team in Kakuma Refugee Camp, a non-family duty station.
Job Summary:
As the Information Management Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation and utilization of data collection and operational information management systems. Reporting to the Regional MEAL Manager, you will collaborate with technical and operational teams to uphold HI policies and standards while providing access to reliable and relevant data. Your responsibilities will include defining information management systems, ensuring data quality, supporting operational teams with data analysis, and contributing to HI’s external representation and promotion of IM expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define information management and database systems, including mobile data collection, databases, visualization tools, geographic information systems, and indicator production.
- Ensure the quality of data and compliance with HI standards by training teams, implementing quality control procedures, and facilitating data transfer exercises.
- Support operational teams with data analysis and use for decision-making purposes.
- Establish mechanisms to guarantee the protection of beneficiaries’ personal data, including impact analyses, coordination of operational procedures, and staff training.
- Contribute to HI’s external representation and promotion of IM expertise within relevant networks.
Qualifications and Skills:
A. Educational background and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, IT, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of NGO experience in Information management, MEAL Officer, or M&E Officer roles.
- Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, or similar tools for data management and analysis.
B. Professional Competencies:
- Results and indicators monitoring.
- Planning and coordination of surveys and dissemination of findings.
- Project evaluation and accountability to populations.
- Information management strategy and data quality.
- Statistical analysis and data visualization.
C. Cross-Cutting Skills:
- Proficiency in office and collaborative tools.
- Strong stress management abilities.
D. Computer Skills:
- Solid knowledge of MS Office suite.
E. Language skills:
- Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
