Shalimar Fresh

Shalimar Fresh is Major Horticultural Grower/Exporter with years of expertise in cultivating and exporting Flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Currently, we are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled HR Officer to join our team.

POSITION FUNCTION

As an HR Officer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a conducive work environment by leveraging your knowledge of various HR functions. Your commitment, approachability, and impressive character will be instrumental in providing exceptional assistance and support to our employees and managers. Your key responsibilities will include recruitment, talent development, policy management, and procedural oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Recruitment: Engage in the recruitment process for new staff members and handle employee discharge procedures when necessary.

Disciplinary Issues: Address staff disciplinary matters promptly and effectively.

Training: Facilitate training sessions as directed by the Farm Manager and Group HR Manager. Bring up any training concerns to relevant managers.

Industrial Relations: Coordinate management and Workers committee meetings, handle trade disputes, and represent the company in court cases. Ensure effective communication of important personnel matters to employees.

Compliance Audits: Ensure compliance with audit standards and undertake additional audit-related responsibilities as assigned.

Health and Safety: Participate in Health & Safety committee activities, report Health & Safety issues to the appropriate authorities, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including WIBA.

Personnel Administration: Maintain updated personnel files, manage leave administration, provide accurate payroll advice, administer Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), labor laws, and company policies.

Payroll Management: Supply accurate payroll variables to the Accounts department for payroll processing.

Filing Returns: Ensure timely filing of returns such as NSSF, NHIF, and PAYE.

Performance Management: Implement performance appraisal systems, evaluate employee performance, and collaborate with farm management to establish performance goals for farm workers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field, with membership in IHRM.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a unionized setup within the Flower Industry.
  • Proficiency in Human Resource Management systems (HRMS).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency in MS Office and Excel.
