Role Purpose:

The Human Resource Intern will play a critical role in supporting the Human Resources Business Partner by providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the HR department. The intern will assist in executing strategic HR tasks, facilitating communication within the HR department and with other business units, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of HR functions.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment Support

  • Job Posting: Assist in posting job vacancies on the company’s website, social media platforms, and internal channels.
  • Resume Screening: Review resumes and shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience.
  • Interview Coordination: Schedule interviews and maintain communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Background Checks: Assist in conducting background checks and reference verification for selected candidates.

2. Employee Onboarding

  • Documentation: Prepare and process new hire documentation to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Orientation Sessions: Assist in conducting orientation sessions for new employees, providing them with an overview of company policies, culture, and expectations.
  • Onboarding Activities: Ensure all onboarding activities, including training and setup, are completed in a timely manner.

3. Benefits Administration

  • Benefits Management: Support the administration of employee benefits such as health insurance, pensions, and other company-provided perks.
  • Enrollment: Assist in the enrollment process and update employee benefits records as necessary.
  • Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.

4. Employee Records Management

  • Data Management: Maintain and update employee files, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Digitalization: Assist in the digitalization and organization of HR records, contributing to the efficiency of record management processes.

5. Employee Engagement

  • Event Planning: Support the planning and execution of employee engagement activities and events aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Feedback Gathering: Assist in gathering feedback from employees and provide input on ways to improve employee satisfaction and engagement.

6. HR Projects

  • Research and Analysis: Participate in HR projects and initiatives, providing support in research, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are understood and adhered to by all employees.

7. HR Administration

  • General Administration: Handle general HR administrative tasks, including the preparation of HR correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Daily Support: Provide day-to-day support to the HR team as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

7. HR Knowledge

  • Understanding of HR Principles: In-depth understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations, ensuring compliance and effective HR management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, or any business or management-related field.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, essential for effective HR documentation and data management.
  • Experience: Prior internship or part-time experience in HR or administration is advantageous but not required.
