Job Summary

Ramco Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Assistant to join our team in Nairobi County, Kenya. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering payroll, managing HR functions, handling HR Information Systems (HRIS), and supporting various HR management tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR and payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Process Payroll: Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including calculating wages, deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain Payroll Records: Keep accurate and confidential payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll activities comply with local laws and regulations, including tax filings and labor laws.
  • Issue Statements: Prepare and distribute payroll statements and reports to employees.

Human Resources Management

  • Employee Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork and conducting orientations.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain and update the HR Information System with employee data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance review process by organizing documentation and tracking progress.
  • Employee Relations: Handle employee inquiries and provide support on HR-related issues, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in payroll administration and HR management.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
