Position Summary:

As a member of the BlumeAfrica team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our events and catering services. Whether you are creating culinary delights in the kitchen, providing impeccable service to guests, or managing transactions with a friendly smile, your dedication and expertise will contribute to the success of our events and the satisfaction of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Demi Chef:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of orders to meet guest expectations.

Commis Chef:

  • Support the Demi Chef and Sous Chef in all aspects of food preparation and cooking.
  • Execute tasks efficiently, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Follow recipes and portion sizes accurately to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

Waiter:

  • Greet guests warmly and guide them through the dining experience, providing menu recommendations and answering questions.
  • Take orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff promptly.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring presentation meets standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests with a focus on guest satisfaction.

Steward:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Assist in dishwashing and sanitization procedures to uphold food safety standards.
  • Support kitchen staff in food preparation tasks as needed, including ingredient portioning and mise en place.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of any shortages.

Cashier:

  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems or manual methods.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with integrity and attention to detail.
  • Provide friendly and attentive service to customers, addressing any concerns or inquiries.
  • Balance cash registers at the end of each shift and reconcile discrepancies following established procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in busy restaurants or hotels.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written.
  • Must meet all specific requirements outlined for each position.
