Role Overview
As the Health Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in advancing maternal and child health initiatives within our Maternal and Child Health Project. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Maternal Health Advocacy and Training
- Provide expert facilitation and training for maternal health components.
- Contribute valuable insights during project meetings and teleconferences.
2. Technical Support and Coordination
- Offer technical assistance for maternal, newborn, and child health activities.
- Foster coordination and synergy across strategic projects.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Promote collaboration with stakeholders, including Ministry of Health and County authorities.
- Act as a liaison between the project and the Ministry of Health at County and National levels.
4. Project Development and Oversight
- Contribute to project conceptualization, proposal development, and partner identification.
- Oversee construction plans and equipment procurement for maternal health facilities.
5. Capacity Building and Evaluation
- Conduct training for health officials and community health committees.
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and reporting efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
We are seeking a proactive candidate with the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, or public health (registered with relevant governing body).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare.
- At least 3 years’ experience in developing and managing Maternal Health projects.
- Strong track record in securing funds for international projects.
- Proficiency in designing and facilitating maternal health initiatives, especially at the community level.
- Exceptional team management skills, particularly with community counterparts.
- Fluent in English, with Maasai language proficiency as a plus.
