What You Will Be Doing

Vision and Strategy

• Develop and Communicate Vision: Articulate a clear vision for your product, aligning with the overall business strategy across various verticals such as Mall, Marketplace, Supply Chain, Finance, and JumiaPay.
• Strategic Direction: Define the strategic direction and ensure it aligns with the company’s goals.

Product Roadmap

• Build and Maintain Roadmap: Create a roadmap that prioritizes business needs while balancing backend technical requirements.

Team Leadership

• Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with diverse teams to design, implement, and deploy innovative solutions continuously.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary contact for product-related matters, transforming requirements into actionable project streams.

Performance Metrics

• Define and Track KPIs: Establish and monitor key performance indicators to ensure team output aligns with business goals and enhances user satisfaction.

Agile Practices

• Champion Agile Methodologies: Promote agile best practices to drive team efficiency and effectiveness.
• Optimize User Experience: Refine user processes to enhance interaction with our products.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Prioritize decisions based on comprehensive product data.
• Scalable Growth: Ensure the product organization scales smoothly with minimal friction.

Vision and Direction

• Provide Vision and Direction: Guide the Agile development team and stakeholders by creating clear requirements and specifications.
• Backlog Management: Oversee backlog management, iteration planning, and user story elaboration.
• Agile/Scrum Best Practices: Mentor the team and organization in Agile/Scrum practices and values.
• Product Release Planning: Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for new functionalities.
• Impediment Mitigation: Actively mitigate impediments to achieve Release/Sprint goals.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

• Product Management: 6-7 years as a Product Manager with strong Agile experience.
• Technical Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of technology, languages, and applications.
• Requirement Definition: Proven ability to define requirements addressing business challenges and necessary technical changes.
• Clear Communication: Excellent communication skills across technology and business teams.
• Initiative Support: Experience in supporting and rolling out initiatives to commercial teams.
