Our dynamic team of 600, with a strong female representation, is dedicated to producing and selling over 150,000 stoves per month in 2022 from our solar-powered facility in Kenya.
Position Summary
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Carbon Operations Department in the Commercial Team. As the Head of Carbon Sales, you will report to the Carbon Finance Director and play a pivotal role in shaping our carbon credit sales strategy. You will be the key driver in closing large, multi-year deals through a combination of indirect and direct sales channels with our Carbon sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Leadership
- Design, manage, and monitor sales practices and tools for efficient, scalable sales processes.
- Develop scripts and pricing strategies for sales acceleration.
- Go-to-Market Strategy
- Build and execute a comprehensive go-to-market sales strategy.
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with Carbon and Marketing departments to create marketing materials, newsletters, and market announcements.
- Specialist Team Development
- Lead the creation, development, and recruitment of a specialist Carbon sales desk.
- Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain a robust CRM database of clients.
- Oversee a sales team for regular customer engagement.
- Performance Measurement
- Establish, monitor, and report on goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Market Analysis
- Oversee market analysis to optimize sales timing and pricing based on industry trends and client activity.
Key Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
- 5+ years of mid-senior level sales experience with consistent multi-year growth.
- Preferred experience in carbon offset credits or fair-trade commodity markets.
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing a sales desk with a process-oriented approach.
- Proven leadership and mentorship experience.
- Strong skills in closing deals with senior stakeholders in large companies.
- Self-motivated, mature, and highly ownership-driven.
- Collaborative mindset, excelling in cross-office and cross-department collaboration.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in CRM platforms and tools.
- Technical acumen to understand and discuss standards, carbon credit quality, and markets.
- Based in Nairobi, Kenya or open to relocation.
