The Role

As the Head Chef at Ol Lentille, you will lead a small team in crafting delicious and inventive dishes for our esteemed international and local guests. You will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Menu Design: Develop innovative menus tailored to the preferences of our guests, both in-lodge and for off-lodge activities such as bush picnics and sundowners.
  • Ingredient Sourcing: Procure fresh, high-quality ingredients while maintaining cost-effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Kitchen Management: Efficiently manage kitchen resources and costs, including optimizing the use of leftover stocks.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Accommodate the specific dietary needs and preferences of all guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a chef with a reputable establishment.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a high-end property operating in a bush environment, such as a safari lodge.
  • Strong team player with excellent leadership skills.
