Overview
Africa Merchant Assurance Company (AMACO) is seeking motivated and talented graduates for its Graduate Internship Program. This program is designed to provide valuable on-the-job training to help young graduates develop the skills necessary to thrive in the insurance industry in Kenya. During the six-month program, interns will have the chance to gain real-world experience, enhance their knowledge, explore career opportunities, and build a strong professional network within one of Kenya’s leading insurance companies.
If you are passionate about insurance, eager to learn, and want to expand your career horizons in one of the following departments, Finance, Underwriting, ICT, Marketing, Human Resources, or Legal, this internship is your stepping stone.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern at AMACO, you will be assigned to one of the departments listed below, where you will take on a variety of duties designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry:
- Finance: Assist in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Underwriting: Support the team in risk assessment, policy issuance, and renewals.
- ICT: Help in developing and maintaining company systems, ensuring data security.
- Marketing: Engage in market research, promotional campaigns, and customer relationship management.
- Human Resources: Provide support in recruitment, employee relations, and training programs.
- Legal: Assist in reviewing contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters.
Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any of the following fields:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Actuarial Science
- Insurance
- Marketing
- Human Resources
- ICT
- LLB (Law)
- Diploma holders in Insurance from the College of Insurance will also be considered.
- Must be a Kenyan youth aged between 22 years and 27 years.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid National Identity Card.
- Required certificates include:
- NSSF
- NHIF
- PIN Certificate

As an intern in the Legal department, you will support the team in reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance, and assisting with regulatory matters. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with AMACO’s legal advisors.
