Position: GLF Learning Instructional Designer

Overview

The GLF Landscape Academy serves as the ultimate hub for learning about landscapes, dedicated to expediting the adoption of sustainable, inclusive, and integrated landscape strategies. The academy offers an array of 30+ courses on landscape-related subjects, including a comprehensive certificate program comprised of five Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The recently developed Digital Campus serves as a specialized learning management system, designed for offline, online, and blended courses. It empowers social learning, community engagement, collaborative course design, and content management in the realm of landscape topics. The primary objective of the GLF Learning Instructional Designer is to collaboratively spearhead the instructional design and delivery of learning courses and products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Instructional Course Design:
    • Conduct thorough assessments of learning needs and competencies
    • Facilitate collaborative processes with project partners to outline and develop course content
    • Manage peer review processes and content creation on the digital campus’ learning management system
    • Conduct online course sessions when necessary
    • Regularly update and enhance course content on the digital campus
  2. Learning Product Design:
    • Collaborate with project partners to design and develop learning products
    • Oversee peer review processes, design, communications, and website upload of learning products
  3. Landscape Academy Enhancement:
    • Work closely with the GLF learning team to advance the Landscape Academy’s offerings
    • Provide insights on optimizing online and blended course hosting on the Digital Campus

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in instructional design or an undergraduate degree in instructional design, pedagogy, or a related field
  • Profound comprehension of pedagogical principles for sustainable development and adult education
  • Experience in online learning design and proficiency with learning management systems
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Spanish is advantageous
  • Familiarity with WordPress CMS and data management systems

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

  • 3+ years of instructional design experience or an undergraduate degree in instructional design, pedagogy, or related fields
  • Strong grasp of pedagogical principles for sustainable development and adult education
  • Expertise in online learning design and utilization of learning management systems
  • Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in French or Spanish is beneficial
  • Familiarity with WordPress CMS and data management systems
