As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company and ensuring the efficient delivery of essential services to our customers.

  1. Commercial Manager

As the Commercial Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director and spearhead strategic initiatives to optimize revenue generation and enhance financial sustainability. You will be responsible for formulating and implementing policies, overseeing billing and revenue collection processes, and driving advocacy efforts to promote service quality and consumer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive policies and strategies to drive commercial growth and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee billing, revenue collection, accounting, and financial reporting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Propose tariff adjustments in accordance with regulatory guidelines and assess their financial impact.
  • Provide expert financial advice to the Managing Director and senior management team.
  • Lead advocacy and sensitization workshops to educate consumers and enhance service delivery.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships to support company objectives and consumer welfare.
  • Ensure timely closure of accounts in line with established procedures and policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Kenya.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Membership in a professional body is desirable.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Demonstrated integrity and adherence to Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

2. Human Resource Officer

As a Human Resource Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing HR-related activities within our society. You’ll support the development and implementation of HR initiatives while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and the needs of our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Selection: Develop and implement strategies to attract and hire top talent.
  • Policy Development: Establish and review HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and meet organizational needs.
  • Training and Development: Analyze training needs, plan, and deliver training programs to support business goals.
  • Pay and Benefits: Advise management on staff pay, promotion, and benefits based on performance appraisals.
  • Employee Relations: Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Payroll and Compliance: Prepare monthly payroll, maintain staff records, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Labour Court Cases: Liaise with management and legal advisors to address labour-related court cases promptly.
  • Staff Welfare: Address staff welfare concerns and communicate emerging HR issues.
  • Record Management: Maintain staff files, update records, and ensure confidentiality.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • CHRP or Higher Diploma in HRM is advantageous.
  • Over 5 years’ experience or 4 years with Higher National Diploma.
  • Member of IHRM with a thorough understanding of the Employment Act.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, handle difficult situations, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Flexible, team player with integrity and discretion.

3. GIS Officer

As a GIS Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing, maintaining, and updating our GIS data and systems. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of spatial data, empowering effective decision-making and operational management within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and manage spatial data using cutting-edge mapping software.
  • Design and produce digital maps showcasing the distribution of water and sewer networks, utilizing spatial and other relevant data sources.
  • Maintain and update our organization’s GIS data, including spatial, attribute, and metadata.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users of the GIS system.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate GIS data into various business processes.
  • Evaluate and recommend GIS software and hardware solutions tailored to our organizational needs.
  • Discover patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data, enhancing strategic insights.
  • Manage a digital library of spatial data, ensuring accessibility and usability across the organization.
  • Clean and convert data for further analysis, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications and Skills: Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Geospatial Engineering, GIS, Geography, Surveying, or related Earth Sciences.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Geographic Information Systems.
  • Strong organizational and management capabilities.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work across diverse settings and effectively engage with various stakeholders.
  • IT qualification would be advantageous.

Desirable:

  • Experience in handling survey data within the water sector.
  • Previous experience in Geographical Information Systems.
  • Familiarity with the water and sanitation sector.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
