- Duration: 12 Months (with a 3-month probation period, renewable based on performance)
- Type of Employment: Part-time (30% basis)

Main Purpose
As a Gardener at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), your primary responsibility will be to maintain clean and organized green areas within our premises in accordance with MSF procedures and the guidance of your line manager.
Accountabilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Green Area Maintenance: Execute various gardening tasks such as mowing, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and weeding. Apply preventive and curative phytosanitary treatments as needed.
- Flowerbeds and Planting: Prepare and maintain flowerbeds and ornamental planting. This includes soil preparation, seed sowing, and grass planting. Report any required earthwork or maintenance in MSF premises.
- Water Management: Refill water cisterns and report shortages to your line manager.
- General Tasks: Perform simple earthworks, lay borders, paving, and drainage tasks as assigned. Train security guards in proper flower and plant watering methods, considering water resource availability.
- Job Description Tasks: Complete tasks delegated as specified in your job description.
Additional Information
- You will be responsible for attending three gardens in MSF premises according to a schedule set by your direct supervisor.
- The number of maintained premises may increase over time.
Requirements
Education
- Literacy (Desirable)
Experience
- At least one year of experience in similar jobs
Languages
- Proficiency in English and Swahili

- Ability to perform basic repairs
