KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme and Pwani University are offering a unique and fully funded opportunity through their Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders (IDEAL). Overview of the Postgraduate Diploma Studentships

These Postgraduate Diploma studentships are designed to help graduates deepen their research skills while engaging in cutting-edge health research. Successful applicants will be attached to the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme and mentored by experts in their field.

The studentship covers all training costs, including tuition fees, research project expenses, and a generous monthly stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this fully funded studentship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree within the last two years (2022 or 2023) or will complete their course by December 2024.
• Graduates from the following fields are encouraged to apply:
  • Biological Sciences (e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
  • Health Sciences (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health)
  • Social Sciences, Anthropology, or Economics
  • Mathematics and Statistics
  • Geography and Demography
• Applicants must have achieved at least a B+ in their O-level exams and either a first-class or upper second-class degree in their undergraduate studies.

Exclusions

Candidates who already hold a Master’s degree or are currently enrolled in Master’s programs will not be considered for this opportunity.
