We are currently seeking a Food Production and Services Manager to join our dynamic team in Kisumu and help drive the delivery of high-quality hospitality services across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning and Departmental Oversight
The Food Production and Services Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and aligning strategies for the hospitality and support services departments.
- Managing the department’s budget, vendor relations, and overall operational activities.
- Optimizing operational efficiency by implementing sustainable initiatives that foster a productive and collaborative working environment.
2. Staff Development and Capacity Building
- Overseeing staff development initiatives to ensure team members possess the necessary skills and qualifications.
- Organizing training programs aimed at building capacity and improving departmental efficiency.
- Creating a positive work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
3. Budgeting and Resource Management
- Preparing and managing the departmental budget on an annual basis, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Maintaining monthly reports to track financial performance, resources, and inventory of essential equipment and supplies.
- Ensuring cost-effectiveness through optimal resource utilization.
4. Quality Standards and Continuous Improvement
- Monitoring and evaluating departmental performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Participating in quality assurance initiatives to ensure compliance with hospitality industry standards.
- Maintaining the department’s HACCP certification and enforcing food safety protocols.
5. Client Experience and Customer Satisfaction
- Designing innovative approaches to enhance client experiences through healthy menu options, reward programs, and special events.
- Handling customer complaints and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Managing client expectations and maintaining high standards of customer service.
6. Emergency Response
- Responding to emergency calls promptly and ensuring all relevant information is communicated efficiently to the necessary personnel.
Required Qualifications
1. Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field is required.
- Candidates with a Diploma in Hotel Management coupled with significant management experience may also be considered.
2. Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required, preferably within the healthcare or hospitality sectors.
3. Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and staff management skills.
- Excellent budgeting and resource management abilities.
- A commitment to maintaining high-quality service standards.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills to manage client expectations and resolve complaints.
