Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guest Service: Ensuring Food & Beverage Waiters recommend and serve food and beverage items to guests as needed.
  • Sales: Encouraging continuous suggestive selling and up-selling.
  • Order Accuracy: Overseeing the accurate taking and processing of food and beverage orders.
  • POS Assistance: Assisting Waiters in processing orders on the Point of Sale system.
  • Restaurant Management: Checking restaurant layout, mise-en-place, and cleanliness.
  • Service Standards: Ensuring service sequences and standards are maintained.
  • Staff Management: Monitoring punctuality and lateness, allocating duties, and stations to service personnel.
  • Billing: Assisting in processing and ensuring correct presentation of bills, including credit card payments.
  • Briefing and Strategy: Conducting daily briefings and developing shift strategies based on business forecasts.
  • Stock Management: Performing weekly/monthly stock takes and maintaining operating equipment.
  • Training: Participating in the orientation, induction, and training of new staff.
  • SOP Enforcement: Enforcing and maintaining standard operating procedures with the aid of restaurant checklists.
  • Presence: Maintaining a strong presence on the floor.
  • Grooming and Hygiene: Ensuring staff personal grooming and hygiene standards are met.
  • Special Requests: Communicating special requests and guest preferences to the Chef.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Coordinating opening and closing duties.
  • Work Environment: Creating a courteous, friendly, and professional work environment.
  • Team Spirit: Encouraging good team spirit amongst all staff.
  • Service Knowledge: Being knowledgeable of all services offered by the Hotel and promoting other hotel products to guests.
  • Menu Knowledge: Having full knowledge of food and beverage menus.
  • Additional Duties: Performing any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience: Prior hospitality experience, especially in restaurant and administrative roles.
  • Education: Hospitality certification or vocational education is a strong plus.
  • Skills: Good problem-solving ability, professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience is strongly encouraged.
  • Work Experience: At least 3+ years of experience working in 80+ rooms full-service hospitality operations at a restaurant.
