Introduction
Victory Farms, one of the fastest-growing companies in aquaculture globally, is seeking a Fleet Associate to join its Logistics Centre in Nairobi. As a Fleet Associate, you will play a pivotal role in fleet operations, ensuring the smooth movement of finished goods, feeds, and materials, while supervising staff such as cleaners, casuals, and drivers during your shift. You will gain hands-on experience in logistics management, route planning, and regulatory compliance within an organization dedicated to your professional growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Route Planning and Execution
- Develop efficient daily distribution routes in ERP Next to optimize resource use.
- Communicate route details to the distribution team for timely execution.
- Monitor live distribution, troubleshoot delays, and collaborate with the Fleet Manager and Sales team to ensure seamless operations.
Logistics and Procurement Coordination
- Partner with the procurement team to plan long-haul logistics while maintaining real-time updates on truck locations.
- Coordinate fleet maintenance schedules to ensure vehicle hygiene and reliability.
Financial Oversight
- Participate in weekly account reconciliations with the Finance team to monitor fleet payables.
- Track fuel levels and usage to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
System and Process Management
- Ensure compliance with ERPN processes among drivers, providing training as necessary.
- Share daily Goods In Transit (GIT) variance reports with the manager per Third Party Logistics (TPL) guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date fleet documents in alignment with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and implement updates on regulatory changes to fleet documentation processes.
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, or similar roles.
Technical Proficiencies
- Proficiency in ERP systems, route planning, and logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, including maintenance scheduling and fuel management.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant software tools.
Key Competencies
- In-depth understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation processes.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills for effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
