Job Description

As a Financial Accounts Manager, your responsibilities will include:

1. Accurate Expense-Related Accounting

  • Ensure accuracy in expense-related accounting activities.
  • Resolve accounting and SAP-related issue escalations.

2. Collaboration for Process Improvement

  • Partner with central payment teams, Ariba, SAP users, and other payment partners to enhance processes.
  • Support efforts to ensure timely payments.

3. Accounts Payable Management

  • Manage accounts payable processes for Upfield East and Southern Africa (ESA) third-party accounts.
  • Ensure key performance metrics are met monthly, including Payment On Time (POT), Purchase Order Compliance (POC), and First Pass Yield (FPY).

4. Vendor and Customer Management

  • Manage key accounts, including revenue authorities and third-party vendors and customers.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and maintain supplier relations for prompt payments.
  • Provide data for working capital forecasting for third-party debtors and creditors.

5. Compliance and Ethics

  • Ensure the company complies with all legal and ethical requirements in its business operations.

You will be a key member of the market unit finance team and will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and posting overhead costs, including international travel costs.
  • Collaborating with the Brand Marketing Investment (BMI) team to resolve payment issues.
  • Initiating tax urgent requests and one-time vendor manual payments.
  • Conducting Business Support Centre (BSC) training to resolve payment issues and invoice management.
  • Providing information and support for various audit requirements.
  • Monitoring the travel and expenses Concur system for improved controls and efficiency.
  • Managing new employee vendor accounts in SAP.

Desired Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A qualified, registered accountant with either CPA or ACCA.
  • A university degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Finance professional qualifications or working toward completion.
  • Previous experience in a P2P role within an FMCG company.
  • Self-drive and agility.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP.
