Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Officer at KSPCA, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Management: Oversee and manage all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with KSPCA policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Budget Preparation and Monitoring: Develop and manage budgets, monitor spending, and provide financial forecasts to support KSPCA’s strategic objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and present them to senior management and the board.
  • Audits and Compliance: Coordinate and facilitate both internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with Kenyan laws and regulations related to financial management.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements, and manage employee benefits and deductions.
  • Donor Fund Management: Manage funds received from donors, ensuring proper allocation and reporting, and maintain transparency with all stakeholders.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-control measures to optimize KSPCA’s financial resources and support the organization’s sustainability.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for the Finance Officer position at KSPCA, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or other financial management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan financial laws and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in donor fund management and reporting.
  • Proven track record of successful budget management and financial forecasting.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
