Summary of Position:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the hotel maximizes revenues, maintains budget plans, manages assets and reserve funds, and complies with statutory obligations. This role reports to the General Manager and Board of Directors.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in revenue maximization, cost reduction, and debt collection while upholding risk management policies and statutory compliance.
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Revenue Maximization:
- Implement strategies to optimize revenue generation.
- Monitor sales performance in all revenue outlets and reconcile on a daily basis.
- All Local Purchases:
- Handle all local procurement efficiently.
- Training:
- Organize and conduct training sessions for the finance department.
- Performance Appraisal:
- Evaluate the performance of the finance team regularly.
Responsibilities:
- Smooth and Organized Finance Department:
- Maintain the finance department’s efficiency according to set standards.
- Lead by example, following the Company’s Mission, Vision & Guiding Principles.
- Compliance and Reconciliation:
- Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Reconcile sales and maintain revenue backup for audit purposes.
- Goods and Services Reporting:
- Collect figures and backup data on all goods and services provided by the hotel.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Chief Finance Officer.
- Cash Management:
- Maintain a daily cashbook and ensure timely banking of receipts.
- Inventory Control:
- Conduct spot-checks on inventory accuracy, including food, beverage, equipment, and consumables.
- Payment Processing:
- Process supplier payments and utility bills efficiently.
- Stock Control and Accuracy:
- Oversee stock control system inputs and validate the accuracy of items ordered and quantities.
- Manager on Duty:
- Handle hotel management duties, addressing complaints, problem-solving, and special requests.
- Team Building and Communication:
- Create a positive and motivated working environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Qualifications/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting from an accredited University.
- CPAK graduate and a member of a professional body.
- Proficiency in hotel accounting systems like Sun, Micros Fidelio, Opera.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a medium/large busy reputable hotel.
