Our Mission
USAID Dumisha Afya is dedicated to enhancing healthcare delivery and promoting the well-being of communities in Bungoma and Busia counties. Through the support of the American people, we focus on HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. Our goal is to assist the Government of Kenya in addressing HIV/AIDS, protecting the rights and welfare of children and adolescents affected by HIV/AIDS, and ensuring equitable access to quality primary healthcare services.

Position Summary
Job Category: Finance and Accounting
As a Finance Assistant at USAID Dumisha Afya, you will play a vital role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments, managing financial records, and assisting with various finance-related tasks. You will report directly to the Finance Officer and collaborate with other team members to achieve our financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Processing:
- Assist in raising staff advance surrenders in Microsoft Dynamics Navision (ATT).
- Support in processing payments to vendors and staff.
- Responsible for processing payments to participants using MPESA.
- Responsible for filing and retrieval of finance documents.
- Follow up and address MPESA-related queries from counties.
- Notify requestors when requests are fully approved and ready for cash collection.
- Assist in following up on receivables and payables.
- Support in following up VAT refunds/reimbursements with vendors.
- Support in monthly MPESA account reconciliation within policy timelines.
- Administrative Support:
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) from a recognized institution.
- CPA Part 1 Section 2 or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar finance role is preferred.
- Experience with USAID-funded projects will be an added advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is preferred.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
