The hotel’s strategic location near Nairobi’s city centre and Village Market makes it an ideal choice for UN and NGO delegates, consultants, contractors, diplomats, leisure visitors, and the local community.


Job Summary

The F&B Operations Manager is a key player in the successful management of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. The role requires a dynamic leader with a passion for excellence, who can drive the team to deliver top-notch service and exceptional guest experiences. The F&B Operations Manager will work closely with the culinary team to ensure that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, aligning with the hotel’s brand standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Assist in managing the daily operations of all food and beverage outlets, ensuring that high standards of service and quality are consistently met.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain optimal stock levels to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations as well as hotel policies to create a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Staff Management: Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising food and beverage staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Scheduling & Cost Management: Effectively schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback to help staff members improve and grow.
  • Guest Relations: Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Guest Feedback: Monitor and analyze guest feedback, implementing improvements to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Budget Management: Assist in preparing and managing the departmental budget, monitoring revenue and expenses, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menus, ensuring they reflect current trends and guest preferences.
  • Food Safety: Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations, maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate and oversee events, banquets, and special functions, ensuring they are executed flawlessly.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Work closely with the sales and catering teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination for successful event execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in a banqueting role as a manager or supervisor, with strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff at all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office, Opera Systems, and other food & beverage management software is required.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
