About TISA and the Okoa Uchumi Campaign

Position: Expert Developer – Public Debt Dashboard
Posting Date: 8th August 2023
Deadline: 18th August 2023

The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA), founded in Nairobi in 2008, is dedicated to enhancing citizen empowerment and government accountability in Kenya. With the constitutional reform in 2010, TISA’s mission has been to facilitate the distribution of power from national to county levels through devolution. Our goal is to empower Kenyans, ensure government accountability, and transform the constitution into a living reality.

The Okoa Uchumi Campaign is a civil society platform that addresses Kenya’s public debt crisis. This coalition aims to achieve political accountability and reinforce constitutional safeguards in public debt management through balanced budgeting. We unite civil society efforts, expressing shared concerns and solutions regarding public debt, fostering public discourse through various channels.

Currently, Okoa Uchumi’s microsite presents static data, reports, and a membership link. To enhance user engagement, we’re seeking an upgrade to a more user-friendly, interactive portal. Our vision is to create an intuitive platform presenting simplified, accurate public debt data.
