Be part of the ES&G Sustainability Advice & Solutions department (CEG) at IFC, our center of excellence in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. CEG comprises approximately 260 dedicated professionals, and our goal is clear: to manage ESG risks, create business value, and set industry standards for sustainability in emerging markets. Your Role:
As a short-term consultant (STC) in our Advisory, Knowledge, and Learning (AKL) unit within CEG, you’ll have the opportunity to drive ESG communications and thought leadership. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Develop a Strategic Communications Plan:
- Create and execute a departmental strategic communications plan.
- Identify opportunities to shape and place content on IFC’s ESG excellence in emerging markets.
2. Collaborate with Experts:
- Work with internal teams, external partners, and subject matter experts.
- Develop thought leadership insights and stay updated on emerging ESG topics.
3. Content Creation:
- Produce publication-ready ESG and sustainability content in various formats for internal and external audiences.
- Manage social media campaigns, including the IFC Sustainability LinkedIn.
4. Maintain Quality:
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy in all communications materials.
- Monitor potential reputational risks and proactively address them.
5. ESG Trends Tracking:
- Develop an “ESG key themes and developments” tracking approach.
- Provide quarterly updates on emerging ESG trends to internal audiences.
6. Collaboration and Alignment:
- Build a close working relationship with IFC Communications to align ESG messages with the corporate narrative.
Selection Criteria:
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in international development, sustainability, communications, public affairs, journalism, or related areas.
- Ten or more years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in sustainability content development.
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of other World Bank Group languages is a plus).
- Outstanding project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with IFC/World Bank operations and procedures is an asset.
- Proficiency in content creation tools and software.
