Electrician Job Vacancy – Malindi

Light International School in Malindi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrician to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our school’s electrical systems and contributing to a safe and functional learning environment.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The Electrician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical accessories, the installation of new electricity sub-meter connections, and the installation of electrical cables across all departments within the institution. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of our school’s facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems to ensure a functional operational environment.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot electrical equipment to identify faults and conduct necessary repairs, enhancing the usability of the items.
• Electrical Repairs: Carry out electrical repairs and maintenance on institutional assets to facilitate the smooth flow of activities that require electrical support.
• Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose malfunctioning systems to locate and identify the cause of problems and perform repairs in accordance with set procedures.
• Layout and Installation: Interpret layouts and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and set standards.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the workplace on all electrical-related matters.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

• Educational Background: Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the area of specialization.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Pressure Handling: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
