Job Summary:

MWA is currently seeking an experienced Driver Officer who will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of MWA vehicles in compliance with organizational policies and Kenyan law. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with frequent travel to the arid and semi-arid counties, the Driver Officer will be responsible for vehicle maintenance, safety, and passenger transport, reporting to the Fleet and Logistics Officer.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all vehicle parts and accessories.
  • Prepare and submit vehicle performance, maintenance, and repair reports.
  • Implement vehicle maintenance plans effectively.
  • Plan and organize travel requirements efficiently, including fuelling, pre-travel checks, necessary documents, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Maintain accurate daily mileage logs and submit monthly summaries.
  • Ensure timely renewal of vehicle licenses, insurance, and other documents.
  • Safely transport MWA staff and visitors, adhering to traffic and road safety laws.
  • Secure assigned vehicles when not in use.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum “O” level certificate, with a Grade C or DIV III in KCSE.
  • Mandatory certification in Defensive Driving.
  • Knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance and repairs, with an advantage in mechanical repairs certification.
