Job Purpose

As a Driver 2 (Administration Assistant 2) at the Central Bank of Kenya, you will be an integral part of our team, reporting directly to the Transport Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and timely transportation of staff and CBK visitors. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of our operations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Safe Transportation: Drive the Bank’s passengers and any other authorized passengers to approved destinations in a safe and timely manner.
  2. Work Schedule Execution: Execute daily work instructions in accordance with the work schedules in the Transport Office.
  3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with the CBK transport operating procedures, traffic laws, and regulations.
  4. Vehicle Maintenance: Deliver vehicles for scheduled and ad-hoc repairs and maintenance at the Bank’s appointed garages and arrange collection upon completion of the job.
  5. Incident Reporting: Promptly report accidents and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
  6. Vehicle Inspection: Conduct daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any malfunctions or defects that need attention to the immediate supervisor.
  7. Punctuality and Cleanliness: Be punctual in reporting to work and maintain the general cleanliness of assigned vehicles.
  8. Record Keeping: Ability to maintain and care for vehicle work ticket(s) for assigned vehicle(s).
  9. Client Relations: Maintain good working relationships with internal and external clients.
  10. Security and Safety: Ensure the security and safety of the vehicle, passengers, and/or goods therein.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of C- (minus) and above.
  2. License: Valid driving license for vehicle categories B, C1, & D2. Possession of a license to operate other vehicle categories D3 and G will be a significant advantage.
  3. First Aid Certification: A First Aid Certificate from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

Work Experience

  • At least three (3) years of driving experience.
  • Experience in Defensive Driving.
