Job Summary

Are you passionate about using digital media to drive positive social change? Girl Effect is seeking a Digital Media Specialist to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. In this role, you will lead and manage digital campaigns that empower adolescent girls globally, helping them navigate their journey to adulthood with confidence and success. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful campaigns that reach millions of young women across the world, ensuring they have access to the information and resources they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Executing and Monitoring Digital Campaigns

  • Manage Core Platforms: You will oversee the execution and monitoring of digital campaigns across platforms such as Meta Business Manager, Ads Manager, Business Suite, and Google Ads Manager.
  • Upskilling and Platform Expansion: As our digital media landscape evolves, you will also work with secondary platforms like TikTok Ads Manager, Twitter, OTT platforms, and other media platforms like Spotify and Takatak.
  • Optimization: Your role will focus on optimizing digital campaigns to ensure efficiency in promotional spending and achieving campaign goals.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Campaign Tracking: You will be responsible for tracking, measuring, and reporting the performance of all digital marketing and promotional activities, both at the end of each activity and on an ongoing basis.
  • Always-On Tracking: Maintain continuous monitoring of platform growth and brand metrics for all brands within the Girl Effect portfolio.
  • SEO Activities: Conduct keyword research, on-page optimization techniques, and generate SEO-optimized content ideas while regularly analyzing organic growth.

Platform and Tool Management

  • Platform Champion: Take ownership of the digital platforms used by Girl Effect, ensuring they are utilized effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communications, providing updates on the platforms used.
  • Tool Testing and Research: Test and research tools that can enhance efficiency in digital media activities, sharing monthly updates on innovations in the media landscape.

Deliverables

  • Rollout Calendars: Collaborate with in-country teams to create and maintain rollout calendars for campaigns.
  • Timely Execution: Ensure all campaigns are executed on time, with consistent tracking and reporting.
  • Performance Reports: Provide monthly and campaign-specific reports promptly to the Senior Manager – Digital Media Marketing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, along with strong communication skills to work with a global team.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills are crucial to handle the demands of this role.
  • Analytical and Creative Thinking: The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and the ability to think creatively to solve challenges in digital advertising.
  • Technical Proficiency: Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and familiarity with Facebook Ads Manager, Google Adwords, Facebook Creator Studio, Google Analytics, Search Console, YouTube Studio, and Data Studio.
  • SEO Knowledge: A solid understanding of SEO principles, including website user journeys and experience with SEO tools like SEMRush.
  • Campaign Experience: Experience in running multi-country campaigns and localizing content is a significant advantage.
  • Passion for Social Impact: A strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young women and girls is essential.

Expected Commitment

  • Assignment Duration: This is a full-time consultancy role expected to last for three months, from 1 September 2024 to 30 November 2024, with the possibility of an extension.
  • Weekly Hours: The consultant will be required to dedicate up to 40 hours per week to managing platforms and liaising with the creative team and other stakeholders.
