About the Job

The Depot Sales Manager role at MGAS is a full-time position responsible for supporting the organization’s strategic growth within the assigned territory. The manager will oversee all aspects of depot management, including people, assets, systems, warehouse, health, safety, environment, sales, and costs. The position will also play a vital role in the Route to Market (RTM) strategy in collaboration with other departments. Ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining a profitable business unit through optimization initiatives in compliance with legal requirements are key responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Quality Customer Growth: Ensure the depot achieves an average consumption of > 4kg per month through effective customer engagement and relationship management.
  2. Timely & Accurate Customer Service: Oversee cylinder and battery changes, ensuring prompt and accurate service to customers.
  3. Product Control & Measurements: Act as a steward for product control and measurements at the depot.
  4. Inspection & Maintenance: Periodically inspect depot equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance activities.
  5. Compliance & Housekeeping: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements and maintain general housekeeping standards at the depot.
  6. Budget Management: Develop and manage filling depot budgets, keeping operating expenses within approved limits and proposing yearly CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
  7. Product Loss Control: Monitor and control product losses during receipt, storage, and issuing processes.
  8. Policy Adherence: Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, systems, and statutory requirements at the depot, including licensing and labor regulations.
  9. Terminal Security: Regularly monitor depot terminal security and take preventive action when necessary.
  10. Efficient Depot Operations: Ensure smooth and efficient depot activities, including the safe receipt, storage, and handling of products and equipment.
  11. Approval Authority: Approve all relevant documents as per the delegation of authority guide.
  12. Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate emergency response and preparedness efforts, acting as the Incident Commander during emergencies at the depot.
  13. Fire Drills: Organize routine fire drills in collaboration with the HSSE Manager.
  14. Spare Parts Management: Approve all spare parts and equipment leaving the depot.
  15. Stock Management: Review daily and monthly stock reports, promptly analyzing any losses beyond approved limits and providing explanations to management.
  16. Team Management: Manage, coach, and mentor the team to ensure high levels of motivation and performance.
  17. Coordination with Stakeholders: Coordinate stock availability with other stakeholders, such as Logistics, Central Warehouse, and Procurement.
  18. Disciplinary Actions: Take part in disciplinary actions against policy violators and offenders.
  19. Profit & Loss Oversight: Oversee the profit and loss of the depot, making decisions to create value.

  • Financial reporting understanding, accounting qualification or exposure is an advantage.

  • Demonstrated experience in inventory management, budgeting, and cost control.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Social Sciences.

Skill Qualifications

  • Proficiency in monitoring transactions and reporting.
