Depot Sales Manager – M-Gas Kenya

Summary: M-Gas Kenya is seeking a dynamic and experienced Depot Sales Manager to join our team. This full-time position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and will be based at our Head Office. As the Depot Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving customer growth within the assigned territory through effective depot management. This includes overseeing people, assets, systems, warehouse operations, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance. You will also collaborate closely with other departments to execute our Route to Market (RTM) strategy. Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Growth:

  • Ensure quality customer growth in the depot, maintaining an average consumption of > 4kg per month.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service related to cylinder and battery changes.

2. Product Control & Measurements:

  • Manage product control and measurements to maintain accuracy and accountability.

3. Depot Maintenance:

  • Conduct periodic inspections of depot equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements and maintain general depot housekeeping standards.

4. Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage depot budgets, ensuring operating expenses are within approved limits.
  • Propose yearly CAPEX and OPEX budgets to maximize value across all areas of expense.

5. Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to licensing and labor regulations at the depot.

6. Security and Emergency Preparedness:

  • Regularly monitor depot terminal security and take preventive action as necessary.
  • Coordinate emergency response and preparedness efforts, serving as Incident Commander during emergencies.

7. Operations Management:

  • Oversee all depot activities, including product receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch.
  • Ensure efficient and smooth operations to facilitate quick turnaround of trucks.

8. Team Management:

  • Manage, coach, and mentor depot staff to ensure high levels of motivation and performance.

9. Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Coordinate with logistics, central warehouse, procurement, and other stakeholders to manage stock availability.

10. Financial Reporting:

  • Review daily and monthly stock reports, conducting loss analysis and providing explanations for variations.
