Objective

Our client in the Healthcare sector is in search of a Dental Surgeon who will deliver high-quality and comprehensive Oral healthcare and Dental Services.

Job Level: Mid to Senior Level

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

1. Bachelor of Dental Surgery: An essential educational foundation for this position.
2. Registration by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board: Ensure legal compliance.
3. At least 2 years of relevant experience in general dentistry and dental implants within a busy hospital environment.
4. Clinical experience in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine: Demonstrating specialized knowledge.
5. Valid Practice License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council: Legal authorization.
6. Certificate in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Equipping you with critical life-saving skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will:

1. Emergency and Non-Emergency Procedures

• Perform both emergency and non-emergency dental procedures.

2. Patient Education

• Counsel patients on oral hygiene instructions.
• Demonstrate techniques for achieving optimal oral health.

3. Diagnosis and Treatment

• Examine, diagnose, and treat general oral diseases.
• Educate patients on preventive dental care and oral health.

4. Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate electronic health records.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of patient care.

5. Dental Implants

• Diagnose, treat, and provide long-term follow-up for dental implant cases.

6. Consultation and Referral

• Collaborate with Consultants on referral and specialized cases.
• Coordinate with specialized Consultants for comprehensive patient care.

7. Staff Supervision and Training

• Supervise dental auxiliary staff.
• Keep staff updated on best practices and procedures.

8. Policy Development

• Review and develop policies and procedures for patient care.
• Formulate best practice guidelines.

9. Treatment Planning

• Create treatment plans for patients with complex dental conditions.
• Including surgery and specialized treatments.

10. Equipment and Safety

• Use dental equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper maintenance and sterilization of equipment.

11. Mentorship and Information Systems

• Supervise, train, and mentor dental officers, interns, and students.
• Establish and maintain a dental health information system.

12. Additional Duties

• Fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor in line with the job description.
