Internews is seeking a dedicated Data Manager to join its Freedom of Expression (FoE) Programme, a multi-country initiative aimed at fostering access to quality, trustworthy information. As a fully remote position, you will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and managing data systems that support impactful decision-making within the program. Key Responsibilities

As the Data Manager, your role will involve:

Program Systems and Data Processes

  • Collaborating with the RME Manager, Project Managers, and operational teams to map program requirements and design systems aligned with program needs.
  • Administering and maintaining the partner database and integrating digital analytics platforms for comprehensive partner data.
  • Designing and deploying tools for data collection, including platforms like Microsoft Forms, Google Forms, and Kobo Toolbox.

Data Management and Analysis

  • Collecting, cleaning, and pre-processing data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports for program KPI tracking and actionable insights.
  • Ensuring secure storage and handling of sensitive program data, in line with best practices.

Knowledge Management

  • Supporting the management of data within Internews’ ProgramSource (Salesforce-based M&E database) and integrating it with other datasets.
  • Designing systems for efficient data visualization, contributing to regular programmatic reviews and reporting.

Collaboration and Training

  • Working with cross-functional teams to enhance data literacy and support effective program management.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends in Power BI and data analysis tools to recommend best practices.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Providing inputs for quarterly, annual, and final program reports, ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Supporting the RME Manager in tracking and reporting all program-related M&E data.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience, including data analysis and management in multi-country programs.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Expertise in Power BI (DAX, data modeling, custom visuals).
    • Familiarity with tools like Kobo Toolbox, Microsoft Forms, and Google Forms.
    • Proficiency in Excel Power Query, Power Automate, and related tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to design systems that streamline workflows while delivering actionable insights.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent time management, interpersonal communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SQL and Python programming.
  • Familiarity with APIs for platform integration and automation.
  • Multilingual proficiency, especially in Arabic, Russian, or Turkish.
  • Background in international development or working with donor-funded programs.
