Redeemed Integrated Development Agency (RIDA) is looking for a Data Assistant to join its DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-Free, Mentored, and Safe) project. The project is part of the USAID Tumikia Mtoto initiative implemented by World Vision Kenya (WVK). DREAMS focuses on empowering adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) aged 10-24 years and orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) aged 0-17 years. The project covers five sub-counties within Nairobi County and aims to increase the use of Quality County-led Health and Social Services.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-impact program addressing health and social issues affecting youth in Kenya. As a Data Assistant, you will play a key role in data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the successful monitoring of this critical initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with World Vision/TUMIKIA MTOTO, Ward Administrators, Local Advisory Committees (LACs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to monitor and document the implementation of DREAMS within the wards.
  • Oversee the collection, compilation, and update of data from the field into the DREAMS database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program Standard Operating Procedures (SoP).
  • Coordinate with CBOs, Ward Administrators, and LACs to monitor and evaluate vulnerable AGYW using vulnerability criteria established by the program.
  • Map out intervention areas using the vulnerability scale developed by World Vision/TUMIKIA MTOTO.
  • Act as the resident ward data custodian for girls-only safe spaces, managing information storage, and ensuring safe spaces are equipped with DREAMS documentation tools.
  • Monitor the implementation of evidence-informed interventions such as Risk Reduction Planning, Healthy Choices 1 & 2, SHUGA, and Family Matters Programming.
  • Keep records of healthcare workers trained in adolescent-friendly services and school-based HIV prevention sessions.
  • Ensure vulnerable AGYW receive the full package of behavioral and economic empowerment interventions.
  • Provide timely monthly and quarterly data reports to aid in program implementation and decision-making.
  • Safeguard all DREAMS-procured assets and maintain an up-to-date inventory register of TUMIKIA MTOTO-tagged assets.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Health Records, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in data management, IT, or monitoring and evaluation roles.
  • Proficiency in SPSS, STATA, and Excel for database design, maintenance, and analysis.
  • Strong documentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with young people, including the use of social media and other relevant platforms.
  • Experience in HIV/AIDS programs or HTS programs is an added advantage.
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with community-level stakeholders.
  • Training and program management skills, particularly in youth-focused interventions.

About the DREAMS Project

Data Management and Security

The Data Assistant will take full responsibility for the security, storage, and integrity of all data collected through the DREAMS project. This includes:

  • Maintaining and securing DREAMS documentation tools.
  • Ensuring adherence to data protection policies and safeguarding the privacy of AGYW.
  • Conducting periodic data analysis and sharing results with the M&E Officer and program teams to inform decision-making and program adjustments.
  • Managing digital and physical data to avoid unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Community Engagement and Collaboration

Working closely with World Vision and local stakeholders, the Data Assistant will:

  • Coordinate community-based monitoring and evaluation activities to track the impact of DREAMS interventions.
  • Work with local mentors and facilitators to document their activities, including educational workshops, health interventions, and mentorship programs.
  • Organize community engagement sessions to collect feedback and address emerging needs from beneficiaries, particularly AGYW.
  • Support the design and implementation of training modules for staff and stakeholders on effective data collection and management techniques.
