Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data and Research Coordinator (P3) to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Professional Staff member (Grade P3), you will play a crucial role in shaping IOM’s programming portfolio, focusing on Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), Migration Data and Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), and Information Management (IM).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Data Collection and Research:
- Manage both operational aspects and analyses of data collection and research products.
- Develop and adapt operational structures, methodologies, and tools for data production.
2. Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Implementation:
- Oversee all aspects of DTM in Kenya, ensuring tools are adapted to the local context.
- Respond to information needs of government stakeholders and humanitarian actors.
3. Information Management (IM):
- Manage IM aspects of the Mission’s projects and programs.
- Maintain Mission’s information platforms, databases, dashboards, and information portal.
4. Research Coordination and Capacity Building:
- Coordinate joint migration research activities between IOM and partners.
- Provide expert technical advice and support for assessing mixed migration and displacement situations.
5. Resource Mobilization and Outreach:
- Contribute to resource mobilization efforts by developing concept notes and project proposals.
- Ensure data and research-related outputs are widely disseminated in audience-friendly formats.
Job Level Analysis:
This position is classified as a Professional Staff (Grade P3).
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Master’s degree or University degree in data and research-related fields.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years (with Master’s) or 7 years (with a University degree) of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in research, statistical analysis, data processing, and reporting.
- Previous involvement in project implementation and/or information management activities.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office package.
- Strong ability to supervise interventions and coordinate administrative activities.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
